Scholarship opportunities for 16-18 year olds to study at UWC
British school pupils who are internationally aware, academically able and active in their local communities are being encouraged to apply to study at the internationally famous United World Colleges.

United World Colleges (UWC) is a worldwide movement of schools dedicated to promoting international understanding and peace through education.

Headed by Queen Noor of Jordan and Nelson Mandela, the UWCs offer a unique international educational opportunity to 16 -18 year olds from all corners of the globe to live and study together in an environment that fosters peace, cooperation, personal challenge and adventure.

Currently the schools are located in Wales, Canada, the USA, Italy, Norway, Swaziland, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Venezuela.

They follow the International Baccalaureate programme and community service, creative activity and personal challenge are all equally important parts of the UWC experience.

UWC is offering 45 places to pupils in the last year of their GCSEs or Scottish Standards, or in their first year of A level or higher education, via a competitive selection process.

The majority of places are for Atlantic College in South Wales, but with the opportunity to attend all of the overseas colleges.

The application deadline for the September intake each year is 14 February. For more information and to download application forms, visit the UWC website or call Atlantic College on 01446 799000.
