The Historical Association invites entries by July 31 each year for the Young Historian Awards. There are categories for primary (group work), key stage 3 and upper secondary (individuals) plus special prizes funded by the Spirit of Normandy Trust for individual work on an aspect of British involvement in World War II.

Previous winning projects submitted for this scheme have included incorporating active citizenship to record and celebrate unusual local heritage sites and the experience of child evacuees during World War II.
