Get a Handel on this: Handel Museum in London - ongoing
Handel lived at 25 Brook Street, London W1 from 1723 until his death in 1759. It was recently opened as a museum with refurbished 1720s interiors, including furniture based on the inventory taken after the composer’s death and fine art illustrating the themes: Handel’s London; Handel the man; rehearsal; and performance and composition. A range of study events, musical performances, education projects and family events is available. Handbooks and activity packs are available including The Handel Bag, which features hand-painted portraits, miniature embroidered costumes, carved musical jigsaws, 18th-century smells and materials used in the construction and fine art of the museum.
