Daily job alerts by email or text message


Hundreds of schools around the country are currently advertising their vacancies and competition for jobs is fierce. One easy way to get ahead of the crowd is to sign up for our daily job alerts service – it’s easy to do, takes minutes to set up and it really gets results.

All you have to do is tell us what kind of teaching job you’re looking for and we’ll email or text you details of matching vacancies EVERY day. And you won’t be flooded with hundreds of random jobs - you’ll only receive notification of jobs that match your criteria exactly.

How to set up daily job alerts

You need to be registered with the TES website to set up job alerts. If you're not already registered with the site... 

1) Go to the jobs homepage http://jobs.tes.co.uk/home.aspx. In the bottom right-hand corner of the screen you'll see a grey box headed Get Jobs Alerts by Text. Click on the registration page link. 

2) Fill in your registration details and then click on the Submit button. Your account will be activated immediately. 

3) Now you're registered you need to set up details of the kind of job you want to keep track of - i.e. all secondary physics jobs in the Reading area. Click on the tab entitled Search and fill in the online form. Once you've filled in all relevant details click on the Search button.

4) TES Jobs will now search for all the job advertisements that match your search criteria. On this page you'll see a button entitled Use this criteria to create a job alert - click on this button.

5) A page entitled Create a new job alert now appears with the details of your search already filled in. You can now edit these criteria.

6) Once you're happy with your job alert criteria you can choose whether you want the alerts sent to you by text (text messages cost 25p, costs may vary across networks) by email, or both.

7) If you want receive job alerts by text select how often you want to receive the alert (daily or weekly) and then enter your mobile number and finally select your network provider from the drop-down list.

8) To get your job alerts by email just select how often you want to receive the alerts in the Get this job alert by email box. Finally click on the Save Job Alert button at the bottom right of this page.

9) To set up another alert simply repeat from step three.

If you're already registered with the TES website start from step three.

Editing or removing your job alerts

Once you've set up an alert you can edit or remove it at any time.

Sign into the website and from the main jobs page click on the My TES Jobs tab towards the top of the screen. Here you'll see a list of all your job alerts. To Edit an alert click on the Edit icon. To delete an alert click on the X.
