Sunny Schools has been specifically designed to embed sustainability into the curriculum. It equips teachers with the resources they need to bring issues of renewable energy and global climate change to life in an investigative and practical manner. It aims to increase understanding around energy and global citizenship, whilst inspiring behaviour change amongst pupils and the school community. Sunny Schools is cross-curricular with strong elements of Geography, English, Science, D&T and PSHE. All activities are clearly linked to the UK National Curriculum and can be used with any KS2 class or Eco Club. It has been designed by the enterprising charity SolarAid and the global dimension is addressed through case studies of SolarAid’s work in East Africa. Our resources are available to download for free! Plus, schools who attend one of our free twilight training sessions will receive a hard copy of the resources & a classroom solar kit.
