  • A great resource for teaching globally in the classroom

This is a fantastic teacher resource. The pages are colourful, well-designed and easy to read as a result. It is a book that expects an open mind and creative thinking from the reader.

The authors set the handbook in a national educational perspective linking their core ideas and principles with documentation from DSCF and QCA. The introduction clearly lays out the values and core ideas relating them to whole school matters as well as aspects of ‘Every Child Matters’. There are proposals for whole school CPD which are practical as well as creative and easy to implement in any school situation.

The second half to the handbook – support for planning and resources – gives creative suggestions for starting points with clear links between curriculum areas. There are strong links to Literacy through story, speaking and listening and drama. The whole text has links to websites and free downloadable resources for implementation.
