- The Holy Grail – a readable, understandable guide to APP in Mathematics
- What is it? - Thank Goodness for this resource, is all I can say. Assessing Pupil Progress (APP) has to be one of the least understood of all the plethora of acronyms that have been pouring down on education in the last few years. After all, haven’t teachers always been assessing pupil progress? This guide breaks down the many hundreds of pages of documentation into nicely annotated, bite-sized chucks. There are lots of examples of good APP at every level and across all the major topic areas of mathematics, making the concept involved far more accessible. And if that wasn’t enough, there are also lots of pictures of cats.
- How could it be used? - You may well find that many members of your maths department have misgivings or uncertainties about APP and yet are reluctant to share them. Going through this PowerPoint at a departmental meeting or during some inset time might be a really effective way of looking at the major issues involved and sparking off some really useful discussions.
- How have you used this resource? - Please share your ideas below.
