In a tough opening round of the Scottish Schools' Football Association Under-14 National Shield, last season's tournament winners, Johnstone High of Renfrewshire, have been drawn away to Holyrood Secondary, Glasgow.

The draw for the preliminary round of the SSFA Under-13 Shield has been announced as: Dumfries & Galloway/Strathclyde: Dumfries HS v Loudoun Acad; Duncanrig Sec v St Ninian's HS (Giffnock); Ballerup HS v Larkhall Acad; Eastbank Acad v St Margaret Mary's Sec; Coltness HS v Our Lady's HS (Cumbernauld); Airdrie Acad v Hunter HS; Whitehill Sec v Holyrood Sec; John Ogilvie HS v Dalziel HS; St Roch's Sec v Govan HS; Cardinal Newman HS v Carluke HS; Holy Cross HS v Williamwood HS.

Lothian/Borders/Fife/Central: Eyemouth HS v St Mungo's HS; Viewforth HS v Lornshill Acad; Beeslack HS v St Thomas of Aquins; Currie HS v Dunfermline HS; Buckhaven HS v Balfron HS; St Modan's HS v St Kentigern's HS; Bo'ness HS v St Andrew's HS.

Tayside/Grampian/Highland: Inverness HS v Tain Royal Acad; Aberdeen GS v Elgin Acad; Braeview Acad v St Columba's HS (Perth); Inverurie Acad v Cults Acad; Perth Acad v Monifieth HS; Bridge of Don Acad v Banff Acad.

The SSFA Under-14 Shield preliminary round fixtures are: Dumfries & Galloway/Strathclyde: Mainholm Acad v Grange Acad; Bearsden Acad v Lourdes Sec; Turnbull HS v St Patrick's HS; Lenzie Acad v St Paul's HS; Bishopbriggs HS v Castlemilk HS; Renfrew HS v Williamwood HS; Park Mains HS v St Columbas's HS (Gourock).

Lothian/Borders/Fife/Central: Auchmuty HS v Madras Coll; Knox Acad v Preston Lodge HS; Larbert HS v Balfron HS; James Young HS v Broxburn Acad; Denny HS v St Kentigern's HS; McLaren HS v Alva Acad.
