EXCELLENCE FOR ALL
Harrogate Grammar School is a mixed comprehensive for c1800 students aged 11-18 with over 500 in the Sixth Form. There are over 115 teachers & 80 operational staff who provide high professional support services.
Our reputation for academic excellence and superb pastoral care has resulted in us being heavily oversubscribed. We aim to ensure all students are able to achieve success academically and also in terms of wider personal development, offering outstanding provision in arts, sport and extra-curricular activities.
HGS has undergone large scale refurbishment over the last 5 years and offers excellent facilities for our learners and staff. Of note, our state of the art library and Sixth Form buildings, including The Forum, a 300 seat auditorium fitted with the latest audiovisual technology.
One of the first Teaching Schools and a National Support School, we offer fantastic professional development opportunities within and beyond the school. In 2011 HGS became an Academy Trust; it retains the same values and principles that are the foundations of the school’s success and upon which we intend to go beyond ‘outstanding’ to becoming a truly world class school.
