Required for immediate start (or as soon as possible).

We have two new posts for 25 hours per week each, both to be worked over 5 days. It is anticipated that the hours of work will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9.15am ? 2.30pm; Wednesday and Friday 9.15am ? 3.15pm.

These posts are temporary, whilst the children concerned remain in the school and/or external funding remains in place.

At Navenby Church of England Primary School we regard all our Teaching Assistants as an integral part of our Teaching Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic 1:1 teaching assistant to support a well behaved child in Year 5 with a diagnosis of autism. We also require a 1:1 teaching assistant to work with a delightful pupil in Year 3 who has physical and learning needs. Both pupils have a statement of educational needs. The successful candidates will be required to work on a 1:1 basis and in small group situations in the classroom and to support the children concerned during lunch and break times.

We are looking for outstanding teaching assistants who are friendly and adaptable and who enjoy using their initiative, are keen to develop pupils? learning and willing to get involved in the wider life of the school. Professional development is available and encouraged.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • An excellent understanding/interest in children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and learning needs;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and other professionals;
  • Experience of working in a similar role;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
  • Flexibility and adaptability;
  • A willingness to learn and develop existing skills;
  • A sense of humour;
  • Willingness to ?go the extra mile?.
