New Forest Academy opened on the 1 September 2012 and is sponsored by the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET). The Academy is situated in the South Waterside area of Hampshire and is adjacent to the New Forest National Park. There are currently 550 students on roll with 40 in the Sixth Form. The Academy is committed to making the very best of its Academy status to significantly improve standards, especially in literacy and numeracy, as well as to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
We are looking for an innovative, outstanding teacher to support the Head of English to lead and inspire others in the teaching and development of English and improve whole school literacy. You will demonstrate high standards of delivery in a consistent manner, be committed to improving progress and achievement in English, and understand the strategies required to accomplish this. You will have a proven track record of success in learning and teaching of English, with the ability to teach across the full age range and abilities. Responsibility for a key stage would be negotiable.
This is an exciting time to join our English team to build on our recent improvements. With a 16% increase in English examination results in 2013 and increased levels of progress across all year groups, as second in faculty you would have a key role in driving up standards, attainment and progress for every student.
The current Head of English is a Specialist Leader in Education for English and there will be excellent opportunities to learn how to become an effective Head of English in due course.
Teaching rooms are grouped together with adjacent IT resources, including laptops and Macbooks.
