Job overview
2nd in Mathematics Department in Guernsey
£27,629 - £44,565+ MA1 (£2,663) + extensive relocation package
We have exciting opportunities for outstanding, experienced and qualified mathematics teachers looking for the next step in their career, alternatively existing 2ic post holders and/or leaders in mathematics to further their careers in the unique British Island of Guernsey.
Guernsey is a remarkable place to live. Offering stunning scenery, an inviting climate, numerous leisure options and of course flat rate tax of 20% - the perfect place to build your future. We're also making Guernsey an even better place to grow up as we transform the provision of secondary education.
In simple terms, we're committed to creating centres of excellence where teachers and students alike are excited by the learning process, and where parents and the community enjoy close involvement. To realise this vision, we will encourage students to think creatively and innovatively through maximising participation in sport, music, the arts, activities and volunteer programmes. Along the way, we will ensure equality of opportunity and rebalance teachers' workloads to focus on learning.
To make this happen, we need a new generation of teachers and leaders. We need people with a vision of twenty-first century education, a passion for cutting-edge practice and a determination to deliver far-reaching change. Capable of empowering students to realise their full potential, you will combine Qualified Teacher Status with an Honours degree in Mathematics (or related) and deep interest in your subject matter. Experienced in driving performance across the Key Stages, you will be an effective tutor and great relationship-builder, supporting the head of department and you'll be ready for an exciting challenge. Finally, we expect you to have an appetite for personal development.
So if you're ready to transform lives, including your own, please visit www.guernseyschooljobs.com where you will find further information on the roles, working and living in the beautiful archipelago of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and the full application process.
