The Academy is a co-educational 11-18 Academy with 900 on roll. Jointly sponsored by the Church of England and the Catholic dioceses of Liverpool, the Academy has been specially designed to reflect the Christian ethos and the environmental specialism. This vision is shaping the education of young people living in the communities situated right at the heart of the city. High quality, innovative and inclusive teaching and learning in this state of the art Academy are making a major contribution to the development of education in Liverpool.

Our well respected and highly successful Principal is relocating to a headship in another part of the country. The Governors are therefore seeking to appoint a Principal who will continue to build on the excellent achievements and reputation of the Academy. The successful candidate will be a practising Anglican or Catholic with a specific interest in the environment and our Christian ethos. They will have energy and enthusiasm and a proven education philosophy grounded in outstanding leadership and achievement. This person will play a fundamental role in continuing to nurture the growth of the Academy and contribute greatly to community regeneration in the Kensington area.

Governors would welcome informal visits from interested candidates prior to 17th July 2014, by prior appointment.

The successful candidate will be appointed under the terms and conditions of either the CES or Diocesan contract of employment.

The Academy of St Francis of Assisi is an 11 – 16 Academy with900 students on role.  It is a joint foundation of the Anglican and Catholic Dioceses of Liverpool and is situated in the grounds of Newsham Park in Kensington, Liverpool.
