Buttershaw Business & Enterprise College is housed in a brilliant new £26 million building which is a massive investment in both the school and the community. We are on the southern edge of Bradford and 7 miles from Leeds. We are popular locally and heavily over-subscribed.

We now wish to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Achievement Leader for Humanities to help us accelerate and improve provision in this crucial department. You will be joining a dedicated team which works with students of all abilities to remove specific barriers to learning and allow students to progress rapidly. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher looking for next step into a more strategic role.

You will have:

  • Successful experience of teaching in KS3 & KS5 to a range of abilities
  • Experience of teaching AS and A2 History
  • Experience in a post of responsibility in a successful humanities department
  • The passion and skills to bring the best out of our wonderful students
  • A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Creative and engaging skills, especially with the use of ICT, with the ability to enthuse and challenge students

Buttershaw Business & Enterprise College is a National Challenge School of 1550 students serving an area of social deprivation on the southern edge of Bradford and 7 miles form Leeds.  It is popular locally and is heavily over-subscribed.

We moved into brand new school buildings in September 2008 funded by Building Schools for the Future.
