Applications are sought for the post of Admissions Registrar at Harrow International School Shanghai with effect from no later than January 2015 and preferably sooner.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure school student enrollment is conducted strictly in accordance with the School's recruitment policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic admissions plans designed to achieve the School's roll targets.
  • Be directly responsible for the entire admissions process end-to-end.
  • Maintain a complete and accurate record of parent/student details and a database of all students in the computerised school management system.
  • Coordinate with academic management to ensure that programmes are in place to support students who do not have English as their first language.
  • To work closely with the Marketing and Communications team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience working in an academic institution.
  • Knowledge of assessments used for admissions purposes.
  • Knowledge of British public examinations and UK curricula.
  • Familiarity with China and Chinese culture and a level of proficiency in Mandarin (preferable)

Harrow International School Shanghai

Operating in close association with Harrow School in London, the Harrow International family of schools shares the same vision, ethos and high standards. The Pre-Prep of Harrow International School Shanghai will open in August 2015 and Early Years in January 2016 with the Upper School opening in August 2016. It will be a K-13 day and boarding school with a capacity of 1,500 students on a campus site of 37,000 sq metres. The School will open with around 500 students.

Harrow International School Shanghai will boast a first-rate range of educational and sports facilities, boarding houses and staff quarters. The School will be located in the new Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone which has excellent connectivity to the centre of the city and the airport by metro lines and expressways.

About Harrow International School, Shanghai

Harrow School Shanghai is a co-educational day school for students aged from 18 months to 18 years. The teaching is based upon the EYFS Framework and the English National Curriculum, culminating in IGCSEs for Removes and Fifth Form (Years 10 and 11), and A levels within the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13).   • Pre-Prep-Years 1- 4
  • Prep -Years 5- 8
  • Senior: Shells, Removes and Fifth Form (Years 9–11) and Sixth Form (Year 12-13)

The School is located in a modern custom-built facility, which accurately reflects the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai. The School combines elements of educational philosophy, practice and traditions from Harrow School in London within the context of the international minded-set of a diverse student body in Shanghai.  It is envisaged that the School will eventually grow to a roll of approximately 950. As with the other Harrow Schools, Shanghai’s vision, 'Leadership for a better world', is realised by means of a characteristically Harrow approach to schooling which demands of students and teachers high academic attainment, involvement in a rich array of extra-curricular activities, and engagement in high quality pastoral support structures, particularly the House system. Students are assigned into Houses where their which their academic and all-round well-being is monitored, nurtured and supported.
