Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, dynamic team working to produce top-class assessments. This role will suit an experienced educator with a background in English Language teaching and assessment.

Who we are

Cambridge International Examinations is the world's largest provider of international qualifications for 5-19 year olds. Our qualifications are taken in over 160 countries and recognised by universities, education providers and employers across the world. We are part of the Cambridge Assessment Group, a not-for-profit organisation and a department of the University of Cambridge. We share in their mission of providing excellence in education.

What it's about

This position will sit within the English Group in the Assessment Division at Cambridge International Examinations. It will involve managing a range of qualifications for assessment products such as IGCSE, O Level, and qualifications designed specifically for international clients. Although the primary responsibility will be for syllabuses in the field of English as A Second Language, flexibility is important as there may also be involvement with other syllabuses.

What you'll be doing

You'll be managing assessment processes, working with consultants on the production of syllabuses, sample material and ultimately the assessment material itself. You'll be checking, proofing and signing off question papers and markschemes as well as managing examiners and ensuring the assessments are accurately graded to make sure that results are reliable.

What we're looking for

Enthusiastic team players who are self-motivating and confident in their specialist area. You'll be a graduate, ideally with experience in teaching (possibly in an international context) and are likely to have knowledge of assessment issues. A keen problem solver with meticulous accuracy, you will have a proven ability to manage your workload when under pressure to meet multiple deadlines and will enjoy contributing to the success of Cambridge International Examinations.
