The purpose of the job
Calderdale College is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to act as Assistant Curriculum Manager for Creative, Digital and Enterprise.

Specialist curriculum areas within the faculty include; Creative Arts, Hair and Beauty Therapy, Travel & Tourism, Professional cookery, Business and Enterprise and Computing.

The successful applicant will be flexible and responsive and will have a proven track record of delivering high quality teaching and learning within one of the specialist areas identified above. The role includes a .5 Main Grade Lecturer teaching commitment and the post holder will have 0.5 remission to support the Curriculum Manager and colleagues within their area to ensure a consistent and high quality experience for all learners leading to high and improving success rates. Through collaboration, working with other Assistant Curriculum Mangers the post holder will have a particular responsibility for improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, the study programme (Promonitor) and functional skills.

Essential Skills, qualifications and experience

  • Experience of teaching and learning
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective networks
  • Experience of FS and/or study programmes
  • Experience of contribution to retention or achievement strategies
  • Experience of working with curriculum teams
  • Good awareness of local and national priorities in FE
  • Experience of carrying out lesson observations
  • Ability to build effective relationships with learners and colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good level of data interpretation
  • Ability to lead on initiatives
  • Evidence of a high level of motivation
