Job overview

Hadlow College will be acquiring the former K College sites of Ashford, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells on 1st August 2014. The new organisation will become West Kent College and Ashford College respectively (WKAC), and sit within the Hadlow College Group. This is an exciting opportunity for Kent and for the staff and students of the organisation.

To support this change a number of new group senior manager roles will be established to oversee operations across Hadlow College and WKAC. These roles will be reporting into the Group Executive and responsible for Hadlow College Group operations and business development.

The Assistant Director Central Operations and Business Development will lead a team of senior staff and will have overall responsibility for the management of the central operational functions of the Group and its constituent colleges, Hadlow College, West Kent College and Ashford College. These will include business development, marketing, the Colleges' apprenticeship activities and front of house services. The post holder will also lead on business development for the group including maximising the effectiveness of existing funding and revenue streams and identify and developing new ones.

The successful candidate will be commercially focused and have the ability to integrate the development of the Group's commercial activity into its primary mission which is the provision of outstanding education placing our students at the centre of everything we do. They will be able to demonstrate significant understanding of further education funding methodology and higher education funding rationale. They will have a strong track record of multi-site management in a private or public sector background and excellent skills in written, IT and oral communication, and ability to influence and listen to senior colleagues (including external contract management). Finally, they will have clear ability and knowledge in customer service and people experience and management

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
