Hadlow College acquired the former K College sites of Ashford, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells on 1st August 2014. The new West Kent College and Ashford College, sits within the Hadlow College Group. This is an exciting opportunity for Kent and for the staff and students of the organisation.

To support this change a number of new group senior manager roles will be established to oversee operations across Hadlow College and WKAC. These roles will report into the Group executive and responsible for Hadlow College Group operations and business development.

We are looking for a strong, experienced leader to lead the Group's Finance and MIS functions. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Management Team and will have responsibility for:

  • Overseeing the financial operations of the Group; ensuring the consistent application of data systems (MIS) and adherence to targets, both internal and external for monitoring of Group performance.
  • Leading on key financial projects, as directed by the Group executive.
  • Being a role model of best practice in terms of service standards, financial management and strategic reporting.
  • Line managing the finance and MIS departments and overseeing all the functions of the financial area including special projects and areas as directed by the Director of Finance and Resources.
  • Fostering a culture of data management and adherence to systems and quality standards.
  • Overseeing the student recruitment functions and development of their services.
  • Negotiation skills are a must; as is strong customer service and people management experience.

The successful candidate will hold a degree or equivalent and have substantial experience of complex operations and multi divisional line management. They must also have the ability to oversee and monitor substantial budgets and complex data and systems relating to performance; at least five years post qualification experience is therefore required following the completion of the ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.

We are looking for excellent computer and management information system skills, the successful candidate must have the ability to contribute fully to the development of systems and processes for reporting and recording purposes. Experience of working in Further/Higher Education would be advantageous; however, a knowledge and understanding of funding methodology in the education sector is essential.

This is a senior role; candidates must therefore have a proven track record of applying a range of solutions to complex issues/ problems.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
