Acton High School is looking for a skilled and experienced school leader with the ability to lead the Science Department successfully, and to lead the school's work on developing excellent whole-school STEM provision, both inside and outside the classroom. This is an exciting time for Acton High, as we are focused on innovation and working together to achieve the best for all our students. One example of the developments we have made is the recent successful introduction of Engineering GCSE at Y9 as a one-year double option for more able students.

The successful applicant for this post will play a crucial role in ensuring that we continue to move forward. The post is suitable for candidates with successful experience as a leader in Science and a strong commitment to ensuring that all students are given a wide range of opportunities to excel in STEM subjects, both in school and beyond.

You should have a track record of effective innovation, and of developing and implementing whole-school initiatives. You should have consistently demonstrated the ability to work well both as part of team and as a team-leader, and a robust understanding of how to use data and self-evaluation to drive up standards.
