About Byron Court Primary School

Believe, Achieve!

At Byron Court we have a motto that underpins what we intrinsically believe of all our children: ‘Believe, Achieve’. This means that we want to ensure that all children are given opportunities to develop their full potential and that the inspiring, broad and balanced learning experiences they have at school will build lasting memories, inner confidence and the ability to make a positive contribution to our society.  We believe that we have personal and shared responsibilities to be the best we can be and that working together; governors, staff, pupils, their families and our neighbours, we can achieve the goals we set ourselves.

Byron Court has been a popular school since 1932 and past pupils including our neighbours still retain fond memories of their experiences and are proud to have been either educated at the school themselves or have enjoyed watching their children and grand-children grow and develop at Byron Court.

We currently have 750 pupils at our school.  The new improved facilities of our expansion have provided even better opportunities for our pupils to develop on a personal and academic level.  At Byron Court we blend tradition and strong moral values with modern thinking that will enable our pupils to thrive in a constantly changing world.  We would urge you to visit our school to fully appreciate the excellent provision and harmonious and purposeful learning atmosphere.  You will see that our pupils are proud to be at Byron Court.

Byron Court was judged to be an outstanding school by Ofsted in 2012 and our standards continue to rise in all areas.  As a Teaching School (March 2014), which reiterates that the school continues to deliver outstanding provision for its pupils, we also provide teacher training, continued professional development to teachers and support to other schools through sharing good practice.  As a staff we reach beyond our remit to support raising standards for all Brent pupils, whilst ensuring that our practice remains leading edge to maintain the best outcomes for our children.

Ofsted report

“This is an outstanding school. It has seen a remarkable improvement in recent years, particularly under the current headteacher’s highly effective leadership. Others in the restructured leadership team make a very significant contribution in supporting her drive for ever-higher standards.”

“Much of the teaching from Reception to Year 6 is imaginative, challenging and pitched carefully at the needs of the pupils … Pupils are very clear about their levels and next steps in writing.”
