Are you a brilliant, experienced 'Middle Leader' who can join our successful Science Team at Castle High School? As Assistant Headteacher responsible for Science you will have responsibility for driving forward and further improving the quality of teaching and learning in Science across the school.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in raising attainment in all Sciences. You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and effective coach with a proven track record of raising attainment and improving performance.

You will have:-

  • A proven track record of middle management
  • High aspirations for achievement and personal development of students
  • Knowledge of a wide range of pedagogic approaches to ensure all students are encouraged and make progress
  • Strategies for promoting good relationships and effective behaviour
  • Experience of designing and developing resources to support learning
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written, plus confidence to present to groups of staff and students
  • Capacity to promote positive teamwork and motivate staff to ensure effective working relations at different stages in their careers

Since the appointment of Ian Moore as Principal at St James, the academy has become a popular and well-thought of school which is noticeable for its friendly, polite and inclusive culture.
