Job overview
The Community Academy opened in January 2013 for students aged 11-18 years and up to 3000 adult learners. This will be an exciting time to join us as we progress to become an outstanding provider of education.
For January 2015, we are seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic teacher to lead our dedicated Learning Support Team and be part of our Leadership Group. Candidates will hold a National Award for SEN Co-ordination or be willing to undertake this training and will have excellent experience with students who have Special Educational Needs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the SEN provision across the Academy
- Providing guidance and sharing good practice with colleagues to enable high quality teaching of students with a range of special educational needs
- Monitoring the progress of vulnerable students and arranging for appropriate intervention to support their continued development
The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share the commitment. The post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and all qualifications will be verified.
