Job overview

Assistant Regional Leader (English), South East/East Midlands/Yorkshire

The directors of VLUK seek an excellent English Teacher to assist the Regional Leader in managing professional sports clubs in the delivery of all aspects of 16-18 Sport and Education Scholarships across a region. The post involves a non-teaching timetable and the direct management of approximately 10-12 clubs, under the direction of the Regional Leader.

The successful candidate will lead on all aspects of English provision across all regions, including delivery and management of the GCSE English programme, and other English delivery staff. We anticipate 300 learners requiring support through the re-sit of GCSE English study programmes in 2014-2015, with a number of teachers/mentors supporting delivery.

Experience of delivering GCSE English is essential, along with demonstration and experience of outstanding teaching practice. The post would suit a qualified English teacher who has experience of management, or responsibilities within a department, particularly one with an interest in sport. Progression routes will lead to Regional Leader positions for the right applicant.

VLUK is one of the country?s largest Sports and Education providers, with an established track record of working with professional sports clubs since 2006. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, focussed on improving the standards of teaching, learning and achievement for young people.

Please feel free to contact Craig Beecham, Managing Director, on 01753 362248 or email craig.beecham@vluk.org for discussion about the roles.

Please apply via email to info@vluk.org including a CV and covering letter stating your suitability for post and the region you are interested in.

Closing date is Tuesday 13th May at Midday.
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st May 2014.
