Welcome to Ivybridge Community College.

It is an absolute privilege to be appointed as Principal of Ivybridge Community College and to be given the opportunity to share my passion and enthusiasm for education in a high performing school.  Students, Staff and Governors at Ivybridge Community College are driven by the commitment to providing an excellent education for all students from 11 – 18 years old.  Students and staff at Ivybridge thrive because everyone matters and each individual is celebrated for all their gifts and talents.  Inherent in everything we do is a culture of high expectation and aspiration.  My ambition and vision for the College as Principal is simple: to steer the next phase of the ‘Ivybridge Legacy’ to maintain its momentum as one of the best schools in the country.

Our Values and Ethos

“Ivybridge Community College aims to provide an integrated, comprehensive curriculum in an environment where the whole learning experience is one of opportunity, endeavour, achievement and excellence.”

Ivybridge Community College is a publicly funded non-fee paying mixed comprehensive secondary school for children in Ivybridge and surrounding area.

The College teaches students from Years 7 to 13 (aged 11 to 18) and offers outstanding education for all.  We are highly ambitious and seek to maximise the potential of every child.

We are extremely proud that the College has maintained its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted status for over twenty years in all areas. This year we have also received the great accolade of being the only school in the South - west of England to have achieved World Class Schools Quality Mark Award.

Inherent in everything we do at the College is a culture of high expectations and aspirations.  Students are encouraged to develop a love of learning, to think for themselves and to maximise their full potential.  Consequently, the College actively appoints teachers with a strong sense of moral purpose and a desire to help all students.  We firmly believe that education can make a difference to the life chances of all young people.
