Waverley School has been judged outstanding by OFSTED on three occasions; October 2010, December 2012 and we have just achieved an outstanding outcome in 2014. We are a Humanities Specialist College which became an all through school in September 2012.  At Waverley we try to create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning.  This is an exciting time to join Waverley School. We achieved IIP Gold in December 2013 and have recently been awarded Teaching School Status.

The students at Waverley School have made outstanding progress year on year.  In 2012, we were recognised as the highest achieving specialist school by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, SSAT. We have moved to new landmark buildings that provide everyone with state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training.  As part of the exciting growth plans for the school, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements.  We are looking for an Associate Assistant Head Teacher to take the lead in Mathematics throughout the school.  This is a new position within the school structure so the successful candidate will be establishing the role from new.

The ideal candidate will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and have a proven track record in effective, outstanding teaching Mathematics.  They will need to be confident leaders and managers and be able to drive their teams to deliver outstanding teaching and learning for all learners throughout the whole school.  Candidates need to have a real passion for raising standards in education.  They will need to be hard working, high achieving and capable of playing a major role in further developing teaching and learning within the school.
The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post.

Waverley School is a co-educational, all-through school located in Birmingham, West Midlands. It has around 1800 pupils across its primary, secondary and sixth-form departments. The school is part of the Waverley Education Foundation, a multi-academy trust that also operates the local Waverley Studio College.

Waverley School became an all-through school in 2012 and moved to a new site in 2013. It is proud of its diverse student intake.
