Department Overview:

This key role is designed to meet the needs of the commercial industry and ensure the smooth running of both the reception and dispensary area to support the training environment. To
ensure the Health and Safety requirements and resources support the training environment. To order and monitor stock levels.

Key Accountabilities & Duties

  • Focus on customer service to improve the client and student experience.
  • Perform cashing up procedures following the set guidelines.
  • Work closely with ACM to ensure that both Hair and Beauty meet income targets for the area.
  • Maintain and monitor relevant software used by Hair & Beauty so that it is accurate and communicated to others and fully operational and used for all data and information.
  • Ensure salons and classrooms are ready for use by lecturers and students.
  • Ensure that the laundry services meet the needs of the area
  • Ensure the distribution of stock and sundries meets the need of the area.
  • Work with tutors to facilitate the effective training of students on work experience
  • Ensure College Health and Safety procedures are followed and adhere to the risk assessment process. Follow all the guidelines for health safety and hygiene.
  • Liaise with ACM to ensure the smooth operation of off site commercial ventures; skills festivals, competitions; open days and student visits.
  • Liaise with ACM to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the curriculum provision.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate Level 3 Qualification in Hair or Beauty.

Experience:

  • Experience of working with I.T systems
  • Following H+S procedures

 Informally known as ‘The College’, Bournemouth and Poole College is a higher and further education organisation in Dorset. The school is home to approximately 11,000 students in the region. Apprenticeships are an integral element of The College, and the school is associated with over 2,000 businesses on both a local and international scale. The College has recently embarked upon a £12 million project that includes a brand new building that is home to a contemporary 136-seat Performing Arts Theatre, a Digital Media Centre and new laboratories for Health and Medical Sciences.
