Salcombe is a thriving independent preparatory school for approximately 200 boys and girls aged between 3 and 11 years.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic and commercially minded finance professional to contribute to and influence the financial development of our successful School.

The Bursar's responsibility is to support the Business Manager in all aspects of the School's financial and administrative management.

We require an intelligent, self-motivated and proactive individual, who is also a confident multi-tasker, to meet tight deadlines when required. You will have excellent professional oral and written communication. Intermediate excel ability is essential, whilst experience in utilising the Double First Accounts software is advantageous.

Credit Control experience is essential and school finance experience will be beneficial, although other relevant financial experience will be considered.

History

Founded in 1918, Salcombe is a co-educational preparatory day school for children aged between 3 and 11. The school is situated on two neighbouring sites in Southgate, North London, and is served by excellent road and rail links.

Salcombe has a long tradition of success in preparing children for selective maintained and independent schools at 11+, as well as offering considerable opportunities for social, cultural and sporting activities.

Management

Salcombe Preparatory School is run by its Headteacher and her team of senior staff, who retain the school’s unique atmosphere. The Headteacher is a member of the National Association of Head Teachers and the Independent Schools Association.
