The Co-operative College is an educational charity based in Manchester founded in 1919. It is a 'designated institution' under the 1992 Further and Higher Education Act. The College provides learning, education, training, consultancy and research for the co-operative mutual and social enterprise sectors in the UK and internationally. We offer tailored workshops and qualifications for members, directors, staff and managers in co-operatives, social enterprises and mutual organisations.

It also works with schools, young people and public bodies, raising the awareness of the difference co-operatives and co-operative values can make to individuals and their communities.

The College is an Investor in People (2004) and is ISO 9001-2000 certified for its quality management systems.

The College business is directed by a very clear vision, mission and set of strategic objectives which are set out below.

In Autumn 2007, as part of our rolling three-year business planning process, the Co-operative College Leadership Team completed a further review of our Vision, Mission and Strategic Objectives.

Since the last revision Spring 2004 the areas of work in which the College is involved have diversified and we forecast that new areas of business will continue to grow. We feel, therefore, that it is vital for our Vision, Mission and Strategic Objectives evolve so that they remain focused and meaningful in an ever changing business environment.
