Job overview

Class Teachers, Reading

The vision of the National Autistic Society is for a world where all people living with autism get to live the life they choose.

Thames Valley School, for pupils aged 4-16, with an ASD diagnosis, is the realisation of this vision. Here, children find a true understanding of what autism means and receive an education tailored to their needs. The school enables pupils who are not currently accessing effective or suitable provision to receive a high quality, specialist education and increase their choices, opportunities and achievements.

As we enter into our second academic year and an exciting new phase of expansion, we are seeking to employ teachers for both our Primary and Secondary departments, with SEN/ASD experience.

Dynamic, passionate and resilient, you will be an outstanding classroom teacher and will be able to demonstrate a real commitment to education for pupils with ASD. You will be an excellent communicator, able to inspire and lead a team and to form positive and effective relationships with families. A determination to provide the best possible inclusion opportunities for all pupils is essential.

You will be inspired by the opportunity to shape the continuing development of the school and to play a key role in delivering a curriculum that will enable our pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve beyond expectations.
