About Hathaway Primary School

GROUP 3 SCHOOL. NOR 390

Hathaway Primary School is a 2 form entry primary school with a 50 place nursery.  We have a large Children’s Centre managed by the Local Authority on site.  Our pupils are drawn from a diverse community with many minority ethnic backgrounds. Over 30% of our children are supported with pupil premium funding and over 40% have English as an additional language. Many pupils join and leave the school at various points other than the usual times. The proportion of disabled pupils and those with special educational needs supported by statements, or at school action and school action plus are each above the national average.

We are a well-resourced, safe school, with an ample site, including a large school sports field, a huge outdoor area for EYFS. We also have a staff car park. The school is close to Castle Bar Park station.

The Governing Body of Hathaway Primary School has recently reconstituted and is very active in its support of the school. As we are in special measures the Governing Body is meeting monthly to monitor progress towards the Post Ofsted Action Plan and provide support and resources to make rapid changes.
