Radlett Lodge School is a National Autistic Society residential and day school for children with autism. Rated Ofsted Outstanding, we have 55 pupils aged 4-19 and have been teaching and caring for children with autism for 40 years.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic class teacher who approaches genuine challenges with a positive and energetic attitude, with a commitment to providing a positive learning experience for all.

Essential qualifications & experience:

  • QTS
  • At least 1 year's teaching experience (ASD/SEN preferred but not essential)
  • Evidence of outstanding teaching & learning
  • Proven knowledge of the National Curriculum and the impact on pupils with autism
  • Ability to lead and drive forward an area of the curriculum
  • Passion for working with pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with an ability to lead by example

The successful candidate will have the ability and desire to:

  • Learn and motivate others to learn about autism
  • Lead a team of experienced support staff
  • Be excited by and enthusiastic about curriculum innovations and teaching and learning approaches
  • Be motivated to support and encourage change and reflection
  • Play a full part in the life the school community, to support the distinctive mission of the NAS and the ethos of the school
