Hours: 21.25 hours per week Monday to Friday 8am - 12.15pm

We are looking for an experienced Clerical Assistant to join our Team. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a busy office environment and be willing to work flexibly in order to meet the needs of the service. Additionally they will be comptent users of ICT and have knowledge and experience of using databases, spreadsheets and word documents. The majoirty of the working day will be spent manning our busy reception area so excellent communication skills and experience of working in this kind of environment is desireable.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

About Broughton High School

Broughton High School is a co-educational school based in Edinburgh for students aged 11-18. It is a non-denominational school.

The school was officially opened in 1905. The school song is called “Broughton for Ever” and was written and composed in 1917. It was dedicated to the memory of the teachers, students and pupils who died for their country at war. The school badge was designed in 1924. The motto “fortiter et recte” means “bravely and uprightly”.

The school has a huge tradition of creating pupil-led school magazines. In the school library, there are copies of the Broughton School Magazine going back to 1911.

The school also has a recently-built state of the art building. completed in 2009.
