An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Councils award winning School Meals Service for a Cook at Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School, Rhyl.

This is a 'hands on role' and the successful applicant must be able to manage and motivate a team of staff, be responsible for the day to day running of a busy kitchen, have the knowledge and skills to provide a wide variety of interesting and nutritious meals in a way that is appetising and cost effective.

The right person will have experience cooking for large numbers and enjoy the challenge of working in a busy environment.

Denbighshire School Meals Service complies with all the recommended Nutritional Guidelines and the successful applicant will be expected to promote healthy eating in conjunction with the School.

City and Guilds, NVQ qualifications in Catering or equivalent are essential, as would experience in school meals but training will be provided.

About Blessed Edward Jones R.C. School

Blessed Edward Jones R.C. School is a mixed, secondary comprehensive, Catholic ethos secondary school with sixth form situated in the town of Rhyl, in the Denbighshire county in north-east Wales. It is a voluntary aided state school that falls under the Diocese of Wrexham and it is maintained by Denbighshire County Council. It takes in students from 11 primary schools around the Rhyl area. A smaller than average size for a school of its type, the latest Estyn report identifies a student roll of 490 students between the ages of 11-16.

In September 2019, a new 3-16 Catholic School is set to replace Ysgol Mair/St Mary’s Catholic Primary and Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School.
