Pro rata 32.5 hours per week term time only +5 Inset days

Required to start as soon as possible, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person who is at least a qualified Teaching Assistant as Cover Supervisor at this large, outstanding, multicultural and oversubscribed school.

The successful candidate will join a very effective and dedicated support team and will provide short term cover for teachers as directed by the School Cover Operator, taking responsibility for the supervision and motivation of the class, enabling pre-set work to be completed.

When not supervising students, the successful candidate will provide support in other departments and in other areas of the school, which might include exam invigilation and supervision of different school activities, such as homework and reading clubs.

We are looking for a calm and authoritative candidate who has the skills to be able to manage classroom activities safely and who can create a positive learning environment.

Shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to demonstrate their high standards of literacy, numeracy and IT skills.

Little Ilford School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-16 secondary school, situated in the London Borough of Newham. The school, which was founded in 1957, has 1,500 students on roll.

Little Ilford School is part of the Manor Park Schools Community Partnership, along with most of its partnership primary schools, and is a Lead Practitioner Learning Centre for the SSAT.
