The Mary Ward Centre is a specialist adult education college which offers high quality part-time adult education. We provide courses in a wide range of subjects including Arts & Crafts, Skills for Life, Languages, Computing & IT, Business, Music, Health, Humanities and Communication Studies.

We are currently looking to appoint a new fulltime Curriculum Co-ordinator to join our Creative Arts Department. The successful candidate will play a lead role in the effective running of the department, developing the quality of provision and promoting excellent practice.

The key function of the role is to support the Head of Department, maintain the effective running of the Department and to support the quality of the department's provision across the visual arts, music, dance and creative writing. Core responsibilities include observation of teaching and learning and managing the assessment of our accredited programmes. The Curriculum Co-ordinator is also responsible for line managing the Departmental Art Technician.

The Creative Arts Department has around 3000 enrolments annually across 250 courses and is supported by a full-time administrator. There are around 60 sessional tutors within the department who deliver anything between one short course per year to 20hrs of teaching a week. The department works closely with our Community Outreach team who deliver a range of courses out in the community.

Annual leave:35 days (plus public holidays) of which some must be taken when the Centre is closed at Christmas and Easter. Annual leave must be taken out of term time, except by arrangement.

Probation period:1 year

The post is superannuable under the Local Government Pension Scheme or Teachers' Pension Scheme.
