Northampton College is looking to recruit a Curriculum Manager for English to take responsibility for operational line management, curriculum development and leadership and participate in the teaching of a defined group of learning programmes ensuring the quality and effective and efficient deployment of resources. The Curriculum Manager for English will design and deliver Study Programmes across the college ensuring that students have excellent opportunities to develop their literacy skills as we grow and enhance the curriculum area.

The successful candidate must be able to lead on good English practice, to deliver from the range of 'A' level, GCSE and Functional skills to further enhance the experience of the learners to support them in achieving their goals and aspirations. It is also intended that you will bring innovative ideas to the curriculum to ensure all students have the opportunity to develop their mathematical skills to the best of their ability.

Northampton College has become one of the larger general Further Education colleges in the region with approximately 7,000 students and a turnover of almost £28 million, over 600 permanent members of staff and around 400 'visiting lecturers'. It offers a broad range of full-time and part-time courses, many funded by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) and the Skills Funding Agency (SFA). In addition, it provides Higher Education courses funded through the University of Northampton, and provides support for a range of other organisations including the voluntary sector.

The teaching posts are based at the College's Booth Lane site just outside the town centre of Northampton, which has been recently re-developed as part of a £75m investment programme. Northampton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college situated in Northamptonshire. It is a 16-plus institution with three campuses: a major building at its main Northampton site, a smaller campus near the town centre and another 20 miles away in Daventry. It provides places for around 9,000 students aged 16 and over, most of whom are full-time and aged 16-18.

Northampton College was opened in 1973. It merged with Daventry Tertiary College to expand its Daventry campus in August 2004, and its Booth Lane campus reopened after a large redevelopment in 2012.
