The Guildford Collge Group are looking for a Customer Services Officer with a commitment to providing a high standard of service to internal and external customers to join our team at our Stoke Park Campus in Guildford.

The main purpose of this role is to provide an effective, efficient and welcoming customer services support for the College, including reception services, telephone and enquiry management, and postal support; and to provide accurate and comprehensive administrative support for Student Finance.

Principal accountabilities in this role are:

  • Dealing with general enquiries from students, employers, work colleagues, parents and external organisations, using own initiative to deal with queries as they arise.
  • Making intelligent referrals to departments and faculties.
  • Ensuring that reception areas are presentable and maintained in a professional manner, including availability of marketing materials and college information.
  • Providing an efficient and welcoming reception facility for internal and external visitors
  • Providing administrative support for the department of Student Services as required.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records and effective and efficient filing systems.
  • Maintaining and producing accurate and detailed statistical reports for the Departments, including the monitoring and reporting of data for student financial support.
  • Supporting the Customer Services Manager in all aspects of student financial support as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of a NVQ Level 2 in Customer Services or proven practical experience
  • Knowledge of a broad range of IT packages and the ability to learn quickly
  • Reception / administrative experience in a busy customer service environment
  • Highly organised with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritise accordingly in order to work accurately and to tight deadlines
  • Courteous telephone manner
  • Articulate and able to communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work flexibly (some evening duty is required) to meet the needs of the College
