You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a CAMHS Educational Unit within a clinical setting this will include all aspects of monitoring and evaluation to ensure high quality outcomes for young people. In addition to leading a team of classroom teachers and education support workers you will be working closely with ward managers, therapy and clinical teams to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach for every young person.

Implementing policies and procedures will be a key aspect of your role, as will the development of robust reporting mechanisms and the effective deployment of teaching resources. You will also deliver teaching, keep abreast of developments relating to the National Curriculum, and continuously explore ways to enhance the teaching environment.

The education provision within our Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is a vitally important part of the planned, holistic support we provide for each young person. Typically based within our hospitals, these CAMHS Educational Units are undergoing an exciting process of development as we enter them for registration with OFSTED - and this has created opportunities for innovative and engaged Assistant Head Teachers to join our teams in Chelmsford, North London, Woodbourne, Southampton, Altrincham and Roehampton.

As you might expect, this role calls for exceptional communication and interpersonal skills as well as emotional and physical resilience. A current UK driving licence is essential.
