Job overview

CfBT is an organisation at the leading edge of the education sector. We work nationally and internationally, driven by a belief in the power of education to transform lives.

We are passionate about what we do and we're looking for a new strategic school improvement colleague to join us at a key time in our development.

Our new Deputy Director will play a pivotal role in the ongoing development of CfBT's work in Lincolnshire and the Midlands. The post holder will take responsibility for the operational leadership of four key areas of our Education Services operation managed from our Lincoln base:

  • Our strategic partnership with Lincolnshire County Council that delivers school improvement services that enable the County Council to fulfill its statutory duties and champion the outcomes for all the county's children. You will play a pivotal role in the development of the service to marry with the sector led approaches that are starting to emerge.
  • Our traded offer of school improvement services to schools, academies and, increasingly, partnerships across the Midlands.
  • Our School Centred Initial Teacher Training and Newly Qualified Teacher services that help maintain the flow of high calibre teachers into local schools and schools further afield.
  • Our management of Governor Support Services; Educational Visits and Environmental Education on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council.

The post-holder will lead four hugely experienced and committed teams of professionals with a strong profile in the education community.

As our new Deputy Director - Education Services, you will lead on improving the educational outcomes of children and young adults in Lincolnshire schools, Over the 12 years of CfBT's presence in Lincolnshire, schools within this vast locality have moved forward considerably, in response to a strong and continually evolving relationship of support and challenge developed in partnership with Headteachers, LA colleagues, Elected Members and the CfBT team. Our current contract expires in 2017 and the support we provide is reshaping as Lincolnshire moves toward a contemporary model of school led improvement. Our growing and highly regarded traded service is well placed to meet this changing need, but we require an exceptional strategic school improvement practitioner to lead our current and continuing commitments to the schools of Lincolnshire and beyond as we seek to expand the reach of this provision into the future.

This is a career defining opportunity to help to build the capacity and capability of schools to lead their own improvement whilst still delivering on the core school improvement functions required.
