Hampshire Governor Services provide a high quality, nationally recognised advice, support and training service for school governors both within Hampshire and beyond.

We are offering you an exciting opportunity to join a highly committed and high performing team in either our Winchester or Havant office. This professional role is varied and demanding. You will line manage and performance manage a team of administrative officers and a team of casual associate tutors who deliver training to schools across Hampshire and beyond. You will be responsible for the recruitment to, and delivery of the local clerking offer. Working with governor services co-ordinators, you will provide high level advice and support for governing bodies in complex and challenging situations. The ability to deliver effective training is crucial to the role.

A degree or equivalent professional qualification or prior experience in a similar role is required. You will have a good understanding of the role of governors in schools and will be aware of current educational issues and their potential impact on governance. A proven track record in effective contribution to building and managing a high performing team will be important.

You will possess excellent personal organisation, communication, negotiation, presentation and facilitation skills. You will be able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills. The ability to influence, resolve conflict and support the management of change will also be essential.

The capacity to meet the travel requirements of the post and to work some evenings is vital.
