Job overview

The position is a permanent role working 40 hours per week term-time only (34 weeks per year). The hours of work are from 8:50am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday with one day finishing at 4:30pm.

Founded in 1564, Felsted School is a leading independent co-educational day and boarding school, situated in the picturesque village of Felsted in North Essex. In May 2014, we celebrated our 450th anniversary, one of only a handful of schools in the country that have claimed this historic milestone.

We are looking to recruit a qualified Design and Technology Technician to join our Design and Technology team. The successful candidate will have a positive 'can-do' attitude and a keen interest in Designing and Making, together with strong subject knowledge in one of the areas of metal machining, cabinet making, joinery or CAD/CAM.

A Design and Technology Technician is expected to maintain good working relationships and demonstrate a good level of teamwork, in order to support the Design and Technology teachers in the delivery of lessons.

This a is broad and varied role, ranging from day-to-day aspects such as stock management, procurement and materials preparation to more creative aspects such as developing resources and manufacturing teaching aids.
