William Hulme's Grammar School is a co-educational all through (3-18) academy. It is Manchester's most over-subscribed state school and one of the most successful high schools in the country.

A Design Technology Technician is required to assist the teaching staff in providing pupils in the Secondary Phase at William Hulme's Grammar School with a relevant and effective Design and Technology experience and ensure high levels of achievement.

A recent Ofsted report (April 2014) stated "the academy has a reputation for excellent achievement through the secondary phase. The outstanding progress students make produces excellent GCSE results, particularly in English and in Mathematics. The progress of other subjects in Key Stage 4 is almost equally as strong.

William Hulme’s Grammar School is the second most over-subscribed school in Manchester and one of the most successful comprehensive schools in the country. WHGS is an all-through (3-18) Academy of over 1450 pupils with a wide range of abilities, ethnicities and backgrounds.

The Academy has a relatively new Sixth Form Centre, a two-form entry Primary Phase and has specialist rooms in the Secondary Phase, including fully equipped science labs, a library, ICT resource centre, music practice rooms, design, technology and art rooms.  There is also a sports hall with changing facilities, along with full kitchen and dining facilities in the Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form.
