Job overview

This is a critical, strategic role within the academy as we seek to drive performance of foundation subjects at GCSE and expand sixth form provision.

Outline:

This is a first tier middle leadership post, responsible for other middle leaders and accountable to a senior leadership line manager. The post holder will lead the development of the faculty and contribute to whole academy policy and practice. This post is aimed towards a Geography specialist.

Specific responsibilities:

Leadership and management of the Humanities faculty, incorporating: Geography, History, RS, Sociology, Health and Social Care, Psychology and Politics and Citizenship Studies.

Main purpose of the Post:

In addition to those professional responsibilities that are common to all teachers in the academy, the post holder's key accountability will be in delivering the best possible standards of student achievement, quality of teaching; behaviour and safety and leadership and management across the faculty.
