Director of Indian Schools

Reporting directly to the Group Senior Director - Education, this appointment will oversee the ongoing development of GEMS Education owned and operated Indian curriculum schools within the UAE, ensuring the continued delivery of excellent education whilst also achieving the Group's commercial business objectives. The Asian Schools network in the UAE currently has 13 schools offering the CBSE, CBSE(i), and CISCE (ICSE/ISC) curricula.

As a member of the senior management of the Group you will be responsible for the following:

  • Education Management; development and communication of Group strategy.
  • Delivery of quality education in the Indian curriculum schools.
  • Organisational planning of structure, staffing and budgetary responsibility.
  • Operational plans that ensure all schools are of the highest quality, meeting the needs and exceeding the expectations of their respective communities.
  • Providing leadership to the principals of Indian curriculum schools to achieve Group objectives.
  • The identification and moderation of succession plans across all schools.
  • Engagement with the regulatory bodies to ensure school compliance and to develop positive relationships

To be considered for this appointment you should have extensive knowledge and experience of Indian education, a minimum of 7 years in a senior educational leadership post, and recent evidence of successful personal leadership of strategic planning and change management. You must be able to interact effectively with Indian education authorities and leaders at the senior-most levels. You will be a post-graduate degree holder, ideally with a PhD or MA in Educational Management, and you should demonstrate a personal commitment to lifelong learning as well as a strong commercial acumen.
