We are looking to appoint an inspirational Director of Learning for Bedford Academy's Science and Technology Learning Village who shares our belief in the highest standards of academic achievement in an inclusive setting. We are looking for an outstanding Science Teacher able to inspire other staff and students; the post is superbly placed to provide an excellent stepping stone for Assistant Principal roles in the future. For us commitment, potential, and teaching skill are important.

Bedford Academy is a good school with outstanding leadership (Ofsted July 2013). We are on an exciting journey to be an outstanding school, with a rapidly increasing student roll and a dedicated, successful staff team. We moved to our brand new building in 2012 including state of the art Science and Technology facilities which includes excellent technical support. In September, we are expanding to add year 7 and 8 to our student numbers. You will have the opportunity to put science and technology at the forefront of the Academy.

We wish to appoint someone who has:

  • Excellent teaching, reflective and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to lead people effectively and work as part of a team
  • High quality organisational and management skills
  • Evidence of improving student outcomes
  • Detailed knowledge of science curriculum
