A vacancy exists for an inspiring and experienced Director of Music to lead a thriving and enthusiastic team to build upon the excellent foundations, in order to take the Department to the next level.

The successful candidate is required to maintain the school's tradition of an inclusive programme that nurtures students of every musical ability.
 
The Arts in general, and music in particular, lie at the heart of our thriving community; currently  over 40% of students are involved in the Extra -Curricular Music Programme including choirs, orchestras, bands, peripatetic instrumental lessons, concerts, musical productions and ensembles. The department is an important public interface between the school and wider community, both locally and increasingly internationally.

The successful candidate is expected to build upon the existing vision in order to promote and develop both the department's academic and performance reputation further.

The Director of Music reports to the Deputy Head of School (Curriculum) and is responsible for the smooth running of the department including student attainment, performance management, subject development, budget setting (and its judicious management) and the department's administration within the context of the School's strategic plan.

This post offers an exciting opportunity for a colleague who has successfully led, or held a senior position, in a thriving and successful Music Department within a high performing British School in an international, independent or state environment.

It is essential that the successful applicant has excellent knowledge and understanding of IGCSE/GCSE and A Level programmes; as too is a working knowledge of the English National Curriculum. Experience of 4-18 education is desirable but not essential.

Kellett is a through train school with campuses in Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon Bay. The Pok Fu Lam campus is a Preparatory School (for ages 4-11 years old) in Wah Fu at the foot of Mount Kellett and overlooking Kellett Bay, while the Kowloon Bay campus houses a Preparatory and Senior School for students from 4 -18 years old. 

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and English National Curriculum, which includes GCSEs, IGCSEs and A levels.
