In a school where academic standards and wider extra-curricular opportunities are so important, music is vitally important to us and a major area of on-going development. Considerable resources are given to the subject as we aspire to build on our great offer to be the centre of excellence for music in West London.
Our boys love music, which is taught to GCSE and A Level. Beyond the classroom they enjoy a wide variety of additional provision, including taking the lead in a concert at The Royal Festival Hall last year and performing in ensembles like the Jazz Band and Glee Club. All students in Year 7 learn a musical instrument through our close working relationship with Hounslow's outstanding Music Service and student leaders are developing their work in primary schools. Our musicians compose for the annual School Production and, last year, students gained places at The Purcell School and the Royal College of Music.
Standards are already high and exam results excellent, but we are seeking a candidate to take us to the next level. We are open to, and would welcome applications from, experienced colleagues ready to lead music as the Curriculum Leader for Performing Arts, or from aspirational colleagues wanting to initially focus on Music and who have the potential for development.

Our Ethos
Isleworth & Syon School is a ‘Leading Edge’ school with a history of excellence; a high-performing school with scores well above boys nationally. Our Staff
We recognise that our staff are our greatest resource and we are ambitious for our staff and invest heavily in their development. We offer an extensive programme of professional development which offers a range of opportunities for training, including internally, through local and national programmes. We have strong partnerships with universities and higher education institutions and actively support staff pursuing heavily subsidised Masters degrees and other higher qualifications. There will also be opportunities for internal promotion and to collaborate within our local partnership of schools.

About Us
We are a voluntary controlled, non-denominational boys school, with a mixed Sixth Form. We have a long and distinguished history which can be traced back to 1630. We are situated in a tree-lined neighbourhood of Isleworth, a vibrant area of West London. Close to Osterley Park and a short hop from central London by tube (Osterley is a 10-minute walk) or rail (Isleworth is a 7-minute walk). There is easy access to the M3, M4 and Heathrow Airport. Our proximity to Osterley, Isleworth, Brentford and Chiswick result in a truly comprehensive and richly diverse intake of students, which creates a wonderfully vibrant working environment for our staff.
