Job overview

Hunsley Trust is committed to encouraging communities of local schools to come together as a single team and help deliver strong academic achievement and success across the Trust. We are looking to recruit an experienced primary educational leader with the ability to work strategically, developing the primary arm of our Trust, whilst also happily working operationally as a Headteacher from time to time in Trust primary schools. You will be committed to working collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop positive, healthy working relationships that result in a teaching and learning experience that provides pupils with the opportunity to thrive academically and pastorally, creating an inspirational learning environment that instils a love for learning in all pupils and enables them to progress, narrowing gaps and encouraging pupils to reach their potential.

Hunsley Trust employs a talented, diverse workforce that works collaboratively, sharing good practice and a genuine love for learning. Our people are given every opportunity to learn and develop through sharing knowledge and expertise as well as accessing our comprehensive in-house development programme and external partnerships. We invest heavily in teaching and learning and our career pathways provide staff with a variety of opportunities for progression, enabling staff to continue to build their knowledge, skills and expertise.

Hunsley Trust is surrounded by beautiful countryside yet is near to the 2017 UK City of Culture. We have an outstanding secondary school and with affordable housing and good motorway and public transport connections, is an ideal location and relocation assistance may be available.

If you are hardworking, committed, and loyal and are passionate about enabling children to achieve greatness, achieving a lifelong love of learning, we would love to hear from you. In return we can offer job satisfaction, a wealth of opportunity for professional development and a working environment that allows you to be creative, try new things and enhance your skills and expertise for the better. With your primary expertise you will join a diverse team that works collaboratively strategically and operationally, with expertise in HR, Finance, Teaching and Learning, Performance, Governance and Facilities.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a multi-academy trust that is at its formative stage of development, with a strong sense of vision and purpose and a set of values that encourage high levels of performance, achievement, innovation and teamwork.

About Us

Hunsley Primary offers its pupils an excellent, child-centred education that helps them to develop as confident, lively thinkers with enquiring minds. Our ambitious curriculum is taught in distinct subject areas, with the children gaining strengths in the core subjects of English, maths and science, and equally developing knowledge and skills as, for example, historians, geographers and artists.

Hunsley Primary opened in Melton, near Brough, in September 2015 as East Yorkshire’s first free school. In 2018, we moved into our brand new, bespoke building on Bluebird Way, part of the Brough South development - the next step on an exciting journey. Along with South Hunsley, The Snaith School, Driffield School, Malet Lambert and North Cave CE Primary school, Hunsley Primary is led by The Education Alliance Multi Academy Trust, benefiting also from being part of the Wolds Teaching School Alliance and Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training, putting evidence-based practice, ethical leadership and professional development at the heart of our staff experience.

An inclusive, nurturing school with high aspiration for all its children, Hunsley Primary makes the most of its unique links with South Hunsley and its trust partners, including the Associate Research School provision, to offer an exciting experience for pupils on their learning journey from of 4 to 19 years old. Our team ethos is driven by collaboration, support and development for all and we thrive on professional dialogue about what works best to enable all our children to reach their goals.

Hunsley Primary has rapidly gained a reputation for high aspiration and excellence. Already oversubscribed, the school has been recognised for its commitment to high standards and our passion for learning, something our families also share. We are excited about the school’s future developments, including bringing new colleagues and children into the growing team. It’s a great time to join Hunsley Primary and help shape our development as a unique primary school.
