An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Director - School of Care and HE to join our Senior Management Team.

As Director, you will be responsible for a number of the College's curriculum/sector skill areas; Health and Social Care, Early Years, Teacher Training and HE Business and you will be expected to provide leadership in curriculum innovation, design and delivery. This will include Higher Education, Apprenticeships, classroom based learning, provision for 14-16 year olds and full cost courses from Entry 3 to Level 6. You'll also be required to manage and lead on particular cross-College developments, services or initiatives and take responsibility for one of the College's key markets, HE provision.

With a first degree or equivalent professional qualification, the successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar or comparable field of work at management level and have the ability to work at a strategic level, directing and managing others to achieve strategic objectives and targets. A qualified teacher with excellent communication and presentation skills, you will have proven ability to lead, motivate, support and develop staff whilst having a good understanding of funding methodologies and systems operated by grant providers, including HE funding.

Able to work on own initiative, sometimes under intense pressure and to very tight timescales, you will have a strong commitment to education values and to promoting the benefits and opportunities of Further and Higher Education whilst having knowledge of the political, social and economic challenges facing the further education sector.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses. 

The college is situated in an environment surrounded by parks and ponds, but within a proximity of the towns of Sutton and Croydon. It is accessible from all areas of south London and its transport links also allow its students to be in the centre of London within 30 minutes.

In terms of facilities, the college has a health & fitness centre, a restaurant, a common room, a beauty salon, and a quiet contemplation room.
